De STEFANO, Fred Sr.
Fred De Stefano, Sr went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 9, 2013.
He was born to Alfredo (Tony) and Aurora De Stefano on December 26, 1932 in El Paso, Texas. He lived in Texas until the age of 5 and then moved to the San Francisco bay area. He joined the service in 1950 as a proud US Marine and served in the Korean War. Between enlistments he met Eva Hoyos and married in 1954. They lived in the Los Angeles area and had eight children – Debi Carrasco, Fred De Stefano Jr, Ronald De Stefano(Patty), Patsy(Juan) Diaz-deLeon, Joanne(Richard) Loya, Christine De Stefano, Mitch(Anna) De Stefano, Valerie Bozoich and 19 grandchildren, 14 great-children.
Fred was a truck driver for over 30 years. He worked for Ringsby Truck Lines. He took an early retirement and worked in the construction business doing home-remodeling, repair work and landscaping. He was passionate about both jobs and excelled in all he did.
He enjoyed ‘playing the horses’, watching football on TV and surfing the channels. He recently discovered the joy of e-reading. And he loved to cook! Fred will be greatly missed by his children and grandchildren; his sister Rosemary(Andy) Telles of El Paso, Texas, and by his many, many friends whom he treated like extended family.
